RTMS/NEWS (RTMS-based Node Event Warning System)
RTMS/NEWS is a Traffic Monitoring solution for permanent or temporary
installations. It performs real-time processing of traffic measurements
from multiple RTMS units and provides an output, based upon preprogrammed
events, whose criteria are defined by the user. Outputs are either
contact pair closures (to drive dumb devices) or serial bus messages. |
| |
|
| |
APPLICATIONS: |
| |
Activating warning signs on traffic conditions |
|
Reporting off-ramp lanes spillover to center |
|
Reporting congestion in specific points (mini incident detection) |
| |
Work zone traffic management |
|
| |
|
| |
FEATURES: |
| |
Quick and safe installation on road-side without
lane closures |
| |
Accurate all-weather per-lane operation measuring: Volume,
Occupancy, Speed |
| |
Up to 16 event definitions, based on up to 8 RTMS stations,
each with up to 8 lanes |
| |
Complex boolean events using up to 4 parameter-limit conditions
EVENT1 = (RTMS#1 LANE#3 SPEED < 20 MPH) AND (RTMS#1 LANE#4
SPEED < 30 MPH)
OR (RTMS#2 LANE#1 OCC > 35%) AND (RTMS#2 LANE#2 VOL <
5) |
| |
Programmable response delay |
| |
Various output options: Contact pair, dial-up line, open serial
line messages |
|
Remote dial-up programming and monitoring of multiple NEWS
systems reporting by exception |
|
| |
|
| |
DETECTION STATIONS: |
| |
Pole-mounted. Includes sidefired RTMS and wireless
modem |
|
Entire station is pole mounted with line, battery or solar
power options |
|
| |
|
| |
NEWS CONTROLLER: |
| |
Fully programmable to process data from up to
8 stations |
| |
Monitors both event parameters and communications subsystem |
| |
Data storage allows observation of raw data at remote center |
| |
Dials up a pre-programmed number upon events or system faults |
|
Can directly drive a Variable Message Sign or a Flasher on
a fixed sign |
|
| |
|
| |
NEWS SETUP AND TOC SOFTWARE: |
| |
Allows various communications channels with RTMS
stations and with TOC |
|
Event definition by simple tables |
|
Remote or local event status, data and diagnostic display |
|
